Open for Business

Greetings,

With the recent actions in the financial markets coupled with a disproportionate increase in spending compared to GDP over the last few years, it has become apparent that the United States Government is getting too big. On top of that, we have just elected into power a party whose leadership in Washington favors the expansion of the welfare state.

It is a damning situation for people who believe in small government. The so-called "compassionate conservatism", coupled with international conflicts have moved the Republican Party out of the small government camp and to the party that has racked up over $4 trillion in debt in an exceedingly short time. At the same time, the Democrats seem to have a leadership that wants to provide the people with every service from health care to personal savings, which will add even greater numbers to our already massive deficits. So, what is the voter to do?

My purpose is simply to educate and encourage. I am going to post links and summaries to articles on the subject. I will also try to keep the readers abreast of big government spending and name for them who is responsible, so that they can hold them accountable on Election Day. Finally, I will attempt to inform the readers about the history and principles of the small government movement.
